For more than 160 years World Expos have helped humanity make sense of change and navigate through difficult times by promoting education, innovation and cooperation. “Developing human capital, building a better future” is of global importance. It will have an impact on every individual, in every society, in every country. Human capital is our collective potential. The sum of our creativity and knowledge. Our talent and experience. Our ingenuity and promise. Baku Expo 2025 will be an exploration of how human ability, in all its forms, can be best applied across all aspects of society for the benefit of everyone. Our three sub-themes – Talent, Vitality and Achievement – align with three of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The site for Baku Expo 2025 will be constructed east of the city. Two hundred hectares of undeveloped land, set between two growing suburbs, will be transformed into a major extension of the city with a fully integrated transport infrastructure. It will be the world’s newest urban park; an authentic and natural location that is both a beautiful and attractive addition to Baku. Azerbaijan is a land of plentiful natural resources, centuries- old culture and legendary hospitality. For centuries the country has been at the crossroads of continents and civilisations. With lands spanning Europe and Asia, it is a commercial, political and cultural bridge between east and west, north and south.
